Supported Employment Opportunities at New Leaf

Are you a person with a disability who would like help finding paid employment?

About our Centre

New Leaf Enterprises is a Social Enterprise and program of Easter Seals Nova Scotia.  We are an Adult Service Centre providing vocational training and support to adults with physical and intellectual disabilities.

Our Supported Employment Programs

We work with people who are ready and able to be independently employed in the community. We seek employment opportunities based on the client’s interests, skills and abilities.  Once the job is secured we will provide a Job Coach until the client knows all aspects of the job to ensure they are successful.

The New Leaf Supported Employment Program works with clients in our centre who have expressed a desire to be employed in the community.

The New Leaf Employment Outreach Program works with adults who are not currently in our program, are ready and able to be employed in the community but need help finding the right job. This program is an option for anyone who is 30 years of age or older and ready to be independently employed in the community.

The Next Step Youth Employment Program works with young adults who are ready and able to be employed in the community but need some help finding the right job.  This program is an option for anyone who is 18 – 30 years of age and ready to be independently employed in the community.

Job Coaching

Our job coaches provide support to the client at the employer’s site, ensuring successful integration in the workplace and positive outcomes. Alongside the client, the job coach learns all aspects of the position to perform the job successfully. The job coach is a liaison with the employer on behalf of the client and will phase out once the client can independently perform the job duties. The job coach remains available as a resource if any questions or concerns arise.

If you feel you can be independently employed in the community following a period of job coach support, please contact us to arrange an interview.
