PSA: Camp Tidnish 2020 Cancelled

The health and safety of our campers and staff is paramount to our organization. In light of the Covid-19 pandemic and uncertainty regarding how long current Public Health protocols will be in place, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all sessions for the 2020 Camp Tidnish season.

We know the disappointment this brings to our campers and their families. We share that disappointment. Camp Tidnish has operated for 83 years and to our knowledge, certainly in recent history, this is the first time our camping season will not take place for the kids, youth and adults living with disabilities.

Our 2020 camping season begins with staff training in mid-May and our first camping session would have started by June 3. Due to this cancellation staff has been notified not to report and to instead, seek other employment. We understand the pressure this puts on these young people, most of whom are post-secondary students.

Cancellation notices and full refunds will be mailed to campers for the 2020 season by cheque by May 30, 2020. We are not able to transfer the registration and paid fees until next year therefore we will not be holding any spots for the 2021 camping season. We fully expect registration for next year’s camp to be open in early 2021.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2021 when we hope to celebrate an expansion to our main building thanks to a fundraiser by staff of the Weston Group in Amherst! Thank you for your support!

Thank you for your understanding and please know that we share your disappointment.
